Opening and Closing
Inspirational speeches and welcomes messages by high-level representatives, experts, members and friends of the Global Innovation Family-WAITRO.
Roundtable on SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals
Learn more about the need for and different perspectives on cross-sector and cross-country collaboration in pursuit of the Agenda 2030 and be part of the discussion on how WAITRO can improve its mechanism to enable cross-border collaboration and kick-start SDG-related projects.
Panel Discussion on Financing Innovative Partnerships
Get insights on catalysing finance for innovative, high-impact projects and listen to experts and high-level representatives discussing approaches, lessons learnt and recommendations on how to bridge the gaps between the private sector and innovative, high impact groups. Learn more about the risk and return gap between investors and developers, business governance risk in new businesses, and various aspects of bankability.
Awards
WAITRO IMPACT AWARDS: Researchers and innovators presenting their projects in the SDG Impact Zone have the chance to receive a prize money of US$3,000.
THE GERMAN AFRICAN INNOVATION INCENTIVE AWARD (GAIIA): The Summit is hosting the award ceremony for GAIIA by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research

Kick-off Sessions: WAITRO SDG Working Groups
WAITRO is establishing SDG Working Groups, which will accelerate members’ collective impact by establishing platforms that enable researchers and innovators to collaborate, share, and multiply their contributions towards the SDGs.

Capacity Development Workshops
